Quite interesting exercise of co-creation for a governmental policy, here in Colombia we were using something similar as a National Design Program (PNDI – Programa Nacional de Diseño Industrial) in Colombia the last November (2011) in order to draft a Strategic Plan for the design of a Design Policy. In 2011, the European Commission launched the European Design Innovation Initiative (EDII) to exploit the full potential of design for innovation. The initiative is steered by the European Design Leadership Board, involving organisations and experts in the field of design, industry and higher-education.
On 21st of March, 2012 a co-design workshop for European design and innovation policy was organized in Brussels. The workshop results are used by the Design Leadership Board to prepare policy recommendations for European Design Innovation. The report will be published in September 2012.
